I never have had too many gripes with enterprise in the past. I was offered a position with them about a year ago when I finished college, however I declined and I decided to go to grad school instead. I never thought much of it until I was contacted by a recruiter a few weeks ago. She called me around 5:00 pm on a wednesday night and basically begged me to come in for an interview, THE NEXT DAY, which was about an hour and half drive away. I was currently debating taking another job which had been offered to me. I wouldn't have even considered going, but I have some friends where I live, that work for e-rac and they convinced me that it would be worth my while to listen to what she had to say. I arrived at the interview about 30 minutes early and had to wait about an hour past my interview time before the recruiter even talked to me. The interview went well, as far as I could tell, and it ended with her telling me how much money I could expect to make. Although I really wasn't too interested in working for e-rac, the recruiter did push me to a point that I would consider a job offer. She told me that an area manger would call me in a couple of days to set up another interview, so I asked the other company who offered me a job to have a couple of days to thinkk about it. On saturday mornig I received a letter from the recruiter I talked with saying she was very impressed with my credentials but they didn't have a position for me at this time. The kicker is that the letter was dated a day before I came in for the interview. It pissed me off that I drove to an interview, as a favor to a friend, and was completely dicked around. It's obvious to me that they had no intention of hiring me and I doubt I would have accepted a job anyway, but why drag me down for an interview under the guise of making me a great salary offer when you don't want to hire me anyway. Anyway, just my two cents, take it for what it's worth.
ps. I ended up taking the job I was offered initially which pays better, has more room for advancement, and is about 100 times more laid back.
