I have absolutely no issues with these boards or the funny ass stories that come from them. I love reading the stories about ecrap. We fucking deserve it right? I think were we differ is how we define what’s acceptable versus what’s cruel (and I think you recognize the difference). Whatever Jill did or however she acted as a person and manager in the Vegas group is inconsequential. I think many people (I’m not saying you), have heard horror stories and just want to pile on for the sake of it. I saw the Tim Welsh thread several months ago asking for dirt on him and I felt so GD angry! I was going to start my crusade then by posting something like the following “Guys a cancer survivor, you might dislike his business acumen but dude can drink from my canteen anyday. I got nothing but respect for Tim”. But I let it go. I then read the Jill threads and clearly the posts were so vicious, cruel and downright disgusting that someone had to stand and yell: “HEY, THIS ISN’T RIGHT”. I knew I was putting a bull’s eye on my forehead. I didn’t care. Sometimes you have to stand up for what you think is right no matter the heat that comes down on you. I think what this essentially boils down to is checking yourself at the door before you post something publicly about people we know that crosses the decency line. I think fmrgreengir said it best, stick with the dirt. The ability to have children has no bearing on your current life and just makes you look evil and vicious. I mean, we all have different takes of the same experience. I think sharing these stories is what these boards are meant for. For example, remember learning Karen Duncan’s stupid ass “seven” method of explaining a contract? (Remember that crap? Start at the top left of the contract, work your way right then down forming a seven…) I think more people will partake if the environment is not as “aggressive” or name calling as it is now. Lastly we also plowed through similar battlegrounds. I may have been at MT at a Jill Branch, I may have been an MA at a Jill Branch, and I may have been an AM at a Jill Branch. However, at least one of the previous statements is true also. Shoot me a PM, I’d be glad to tell you some good stories and perhaps who I am on the condition of your word of anonymity. I’d rather not have a thread open in my name for all to post garbage on… One love… | Once again, it is a cautoinary tale. Jil's life didn't have to turn out the way that it did, but she chose to do so for the opportunity to rent cars and because she bought in to the company's BS line. Remember when you were in elementary school and the police officer came to your school to visit you with the 'drug talk.' He would tell stories about how various people had seen their lives spin out of control after they began using drugs. I think one of the more recent ones has been the 'Faces of Meth' series, where they take the before and after shots of Meth addicts. Those campaigns are designed to scare people away from a certain habit that could cause them some harm and miss out on many of life's more rewarding experiences. Can anyone on here honestly say that their lives are worse today as a result of leaving in-turd-prize? I think it is both valid and valiant for people to post examples on what one will be effectively sacrificing for a career of renting cars. |
