After you get through your first assistant manager spot enterprise becomes much more enjoyable. As an area manager I make my own hours, well pretty much make my own hours. I make 6 figures. I hire and I fire, if necessary. I love what I do now much more than before.
Best of luck
I completely agree with this post and I can share a similar story. I worked pharma for 5 years with a company called Medicis. It was a good stepping stone and I made some pretty good money as a pharma rep. Good base salary, company car, etc. Anyways, I got fed up with the corporate bullshit and I eventually found Enterprise. I've been with the company for 4 years now and I am a branch manager. I run the 2nd largest operation in the state and my life has dramatically improved since I made the switch.

I work a few more hours, but the comraderie that you get working for a company that truly cares for its employees is well worth it. Don't listen to what these idiots tell you about how bad the company is. True, my first year I made $30k, but my 2nd year as an Assistant Manager, I made $70k. Being a branch manager, I'm on pace to make $300,000 this year.

Not only has Enterprise had a strong financial impact on my life, it has taught me strong morals, ethics, and really has given me the satisfaction of knowing that I am making a difference in everybody's lives.
