When the cab finally did arrive, all of the Enterprise employess were still at the location. This is only the beginning of this dreadful story. I called the company to complain, and they did offer me a free rental when I next came in. So the next time I had an event where I needed to rent a van, I called to reserve one. Again, the manager complained bitterly about having to come pick me up, and arrived 45 minutes late. I finally did get to the rental office, where I rented a minivan, because btw, even though I had reserved a cargo van, they were short on them and asked would I take a minivan instead. It was turned out to be completely unsuited to my needs, as the seats did not fold down completely and I ended up having to borrow another van anyway. But that's not the worst of it. Upon leaving I asked them at what time they opened Monday morning as they were closed on Sunday. I told them I would be there right when they opened, which I was. No one ever mentioned to me that even though they were closed on Sunday, I would be charged an extra day for returning the car on Monday morning. There went my free rental. Even though I called the corporate office to complain, I ended up having to pay- even though they were unavailable to accept my return on Sunday, which I gladly would have done. And nowhere in their contract does it mention anything about returning arrangements or charges for days they are closed. Come on - how can I keep an agreement which I know nothing about. The same manger who refused to bring me home the first time, accused me of trying to get something for nothing. I don't know- seems to me I paid both times and got not much. |
Their slogan says "we'll pick you up". It doesn't say anything about taking you back. They do that as an added courtesy, and are happy to do so, provided you give them enough time. Furthermore, if you wanted a ride back, you could have showed up 30 minutes before they closed, instead of at closing time. The hours are posted on the door. When the door says they close at 6pm, that means closed, lights off, door locked, employees gone home to their families at 6pm, not still on the road dropping off customers that didn't show up until 6pm. As for your Sunday issue, that's like asking the property owner of the building you rent space in for your catering business to not charge you for rent on Sundays because you are closed on Sundays. Look, Enterprise rents cars at a DAILY RATE. If you picked up a car on Saturday and returned it on Monday, you have a 2 DAY rental. Regardless of the reason you had the car for 2 DAYS, you still had it for 2 DAYS, right? So pay for the extra DAY and get over it. You said yourself that you knew they were closed on Sunday. You knew this before you signed the contract and left with the car. You were supposed to get a free one day rental, right? How many days did you have the car? Are you picking up what I'm putting down? I don't even work for ERAC anymore and you piss me off.
