It only serves to underscore how little employees are valued by upper management. Even if this is not the case, it is certainly the impression coveyed. This is similar to a scenario in which waiter gets more pissed off from a customer who leaves, say, a $0.03 tip, than a customer who just stiffs him on the tip -- because the $0.03 tipper goes through actual [i]effort[i] to make the waiter feel worthless and to prove he is an asshole.
That is the best statement I have heard.

When I worked there, I never even thought about my "Christmas bonus". My last year there, I got pens, ERAC pens. They were in some nice packaging but not even worth $2. And my ARM was actually impressed by this gift. I wrote with it once and it sucks. I just would like to know the thought process of these "bonuses". Do they take meetings after meetings to decide what to give, or 1 week before Christmas, somebody from corporate looks in the ERAC book and throw a dart to it and orders it.

Multi-billion dollar corporation and can't afford at least $100 for each employee for their bonus. What a joke.
