Re: OT: Is working for Hertz any better? In response to JeanHo's post regarding car rental agents not being accountants, I would definitely agree as such....after all they have DIFFERENT TITLES! Nonetheless, it does not make any one any less skilled than the other. HLE locations staff with managers.... Manager Trainees, Associate Managers, Assistant Branch Managers, and Branch Managers. They are managers! They multi-task, utilize effective decision making skills, are entrusted to maintain our company's competitive edge, marketing, etc. In my opinion, that displays much more talent than someone who sits at a desk an punches numbers. Big deal! Most of them are probably lacking any personality and probably get tired of the repetitiveness of their work. Our employees all have different positive contributions that they bring to Hertz.... their own uniqueness and thought processes. Our company is SALES driven, so on top of the other areas of responsibilities, they learn first hand how to grow their business by learning and implementing effective plans of action for success. Utilization, revenue management, pre-tax profitability, etc. are just the beginning of what our Managers' learn! So, before you mistakenly call one of our Managers a "car rental agent", you might want to think again. Also, there is no reason to belittle a "car rental agent" to begin with! It is it's own profession and employees make exceptional pay as such. You seem to need to educate yourself since most of what was said in your post seems to be said out of ignorance. Our agents at the airport locations are called CSR's - Customer Service Representatives. You are truly living in the dark ages. Pull it together! |
