I would not take their word for it onthe oil change. You need to request the records in print. I can't count how many times we told customers that maintainence was up todate simply to give them a warm fuzzy about the vehicle they were getting in. If they did get it serviced then, who's to say this was not the first oil change (@20K plus miles)???

Plus, if they cannot show that the repairs are required as a result of physical damage or lack of maintanence, then the vehicle should be repaired under warranty. If its a lack of maintainence, they should pay. If its physical damage that they can prove, file a claim. Again, Jim is a great guy, honest and fair. I would recommend not waiting for a bill. Call him and set up a face to face before hand. They tend to get irritated when they have to initiate all contact. If you show that you want to work with them, and are actively seeking a resolution, even its completly in your favor, that curtousey will get you a long way!
