Dom - there was a 1 hour show on PBS this week with an American reporter investigating the different health care systems in Britian, Japan, Switzerland etc...He came to some interesting conclusions....the major theme was the programs were mostly non-profit and admin costs were kept down (6-8%, they said in the show that the US's admin costs were 24%).
The best part about it was that Switzerland just put National health care through in the last 30 years and while the original vote in favour of it was 51-49 it is now fully accepted even by the current right-centre government.
Anyways, you should try to catch it...
