 Enterprise screws its employees!
Joining National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car with Enterprise Rent-A-Car has provided us an opportunity to examine and revise our employee and family rental discount program to include all three brands.
Effective June 1, 2008, the new daily rental discount program will be as follows.
The new program includes a change in how the discount rate is determined and a flat-rate for collision damage waiver. The following rental discounts will be available to full-time and part-time active employees and their family members beginning on employee date-of-hire. Please note: This program does not apply to any licensee employees and can only be used at corporate-owned locations.
Rentals should be booked in advance to obtain the most advantageous rates. Please book rentals via the following phone numbers:
North America Employees: Reservations for all brands, both domestic and international, must be booked via the Contact Center VIP Line at 800-847-3722 (800-VIP-ERAC).
European Employees: Reservations for all brands, both domestic and international, must be booked via the Contact Center European VIP Line at 00 800 3722 8471 (00 800-ERAC-VIP1).
Employees renting vehicles for themselves must have someone other than themselves (e.g., their manager or assistant manager) open and close their rental agreements. Violation of this procedure will be cause for disciplinary action, up to and including termination. Employees and family members also must meet normal age, credit and payment requirements for rental purposes and are permitted one rental under their name at any given time.
Applicability: Discounts apply to the posted daily retail rates for vehicles, rented at Enterprise, National and Alamo. Purchase of collision damage waiver (CDW) or loss damage waiver (LDW) is required to qualify for the discount. An employee or family member may decline damage waiver at which point, the discount would not apply.
The employee discount rate is available to employees of various Enterprise subsidiaries, as well as their spouses, same-sex domestic partners (and where required by law, opposite sex domestic partners), children and parents.
The family discount rate is available to employees’ grandparents, in-laws, siblings, or any other relative. All drivers must be 21 years of age or older to qualify. Discount is applicable on prevailing daily time and mileage charges; maximum rental length is 14 days. All rental charges must be paid in full at the end of the rental period. Supplemental liability protection, personal accident insurance, personal effects coverage and all other ancillary products, GPS, baby seats, ski racks etc., where available, are not are not subject to the discount.
Please note this program is not designed to support the long-term transportation needs for employees or their family members. While group and region policies may vary, long term is generally defined as greater than 14 days.

Mileage: Mileage is unlimited within the renting state and bordering states; or mileage will include 250 miles free per day for rentals leaving those areas. Excess mileage is charged at the appropriate cents-per-mile rate for the car class rented, based on the applicable mileage plan associated with the rental.
Additional driver fees: Additional driver fees will not be charged on employee or family rentals.
CDW/LDW: CDW/LDW purchase is mandatory to qualify for the discount and will be sold at $7.50 per day (£7.50 or €7.50 in Europe) for all available car classes.
Emerald Club Members: Employee and family discount rentals will not be eligible to earn points, coupons or upgrades through the Emerald Club program.
