This is an interesting response. I'm assuming here the driver of the vehicle was responsible, not the owner of the car. Yes, it may be a problem if the driver has no insurance or not enough insurance, but going after some third party simply because they probably have money doesn't make any sense.

Just because you're SOL because you got hit doesn't mean it's fair that you can pass the loss on to somebody else. Or am I reading this wrong?
