Default Consider Wells Fargo before Enterprise

Hey guys,

I was once close to working at Enterprise as an MT I guess. Back in November 04, just finished my college requirements, Degree in Business Adminsitration and about to go to my third interview w/ Enterprise.

I was also going through interview with Wells Fargo Financial, a financial sevices company. I actually was originally going to take Enterprise, because they made it seem like a job where your days were so varied, and you could make six figures fast. Thanks to this site- I found it one day in my research- I went to work for Wells Fargo Fin as an MT.

Since then they have changed the job title to credit manager. I live in the northeast, was hired at 32k salary plus chance at 4k per quarter bonus. SInce then they have changed the bonus structure- where as a CM you can make 2500/month bonus depending on your sales numbers. In seven months I have gotten a small raise- 3%, and also been promoted to Senior Credit Manager where I can now earn 3500/month bonus.

THe hours are not bad. I work 8:30-5:30 on Monday Wednesday and Friday, and 10-7 on Tuesday and Thursday. No Weekends. Also some branches only have 8:30-5:30 hours from what I have heard. In seven months there- getting paid 15th and last day of month- I have made about 22k. With a little OT at my discretion and hitting a couple small bonuses and one 2k Bonus. I am doing very well setting my self up for month of August with potential for 3500 bonus. I expect to make at least 40k this year. It takes you 3-4 months just to really get going and be fully trained or I would have made more than 22k so far this year-

The BAD- It is a sales job!! NEw rules and regulations have come on board- have to read a script to leave a message. HEavy telephone sales- although no cold calling- acually pretty good leads- where you call current and former customers and have their credit score, how many ccs they have etc right in front of you. The district work in is one of the worst sales wise, and they have now taken away our e-mail except for a couple hours a day. At times they babysit and ask you what you are doing and scrutinize how many calls you are making. It is a heavy numbers job, what have you done for me lately type thing.

So - just to let you guys know. I am not advertising this job to anyone. There are a lot of things I do not like and I have been looking for something else. I do not think sales is for me in the long run. I do not parucularly like the job.

However, what I am saying is that it sounds like a better starting point than Enterprise. A good name for your resume. More money, less hours, and potential to make a lot more than an MT at Enterprise. I even met a couple people at orientation who worked at Enterprise and left for Wells Fargo. So, if you are considering Enterpise and can not find anything else, apply for Wells Fargo instead. You may be pretty much a telemarketer, but you will not be renting cars for a living, will make more money, and can dress business casual.

I may be looking for something else, but at least while I am I can be patient for the right job- becauseI can potentially make 50k a year here, and I am doing well and have time for myself......also 21 days paid vacation which you get right away.

If anyone else has any questions, just reply with them and I will answer.

Once again, thanks to all on this site- because without this site I may have been an MT at Enterprise right now.
