It does not really matter why the site was created, it is far more important that it continues to exist. It may have started out as a self-serving purpose, however, now it seems to be a constant source of entertainment, horror stories (like the one posted above) that keep college students from making this mistake, and a open forum that gives at least a little release to employees.

I think this site helps people and that is all that matters. It has a major value to many people and I for one am a proud reader.
There are some comments that are needless but it is just like everything else on the web.
