You've been a long-term contributor with much better-than-average postings and I appreciate it.

Well, yes and no. Having just one customer go to the competition isn't going to be noticed by Enterprise, but if I can warn other people and convince lots of them they'd be happier at the competition, then I'd have a positive effect.

This isn't true for a couple of reasons. First, if Enterprise is known for its desire to avoid bad publicity, they certainly aren't demonstrating that desire here at all. There are so many things they could be doing about these problems and they refuse to even start. Of course, it's possible they don't understand the Internet and don't yet see it as being important.
Secondly, I'm definitely not in it for any sort of having them "buy/pay" in any way. It's not about money. This is about public service. I don't want other people to have to suffer the troubles I did with Enterprise, and I genuinely want to help the country by persuading Enterprise to rejoin the mainstream ethical business community. I want a strong economy, and we can't get one based upon consistently and predictably lying to your customers.
My only goal for FailingEnterprise is to persuade Enterprise to change their behavior and I'm leveraging the Internet to tell as many people as possible about my personal experiences with them and my personal opinions.
I've been offered "free rentals" or "free upgrades" from Enterprise back when I was actively trying to resolve these issues with the local branch and region. I don't want anything "for free". I want to pay my own way in life, and earn a reputation as a good customer.
Enterprise employees seem to frequently mistakenly assume it's always about money, and think that by offering a discount, or a free upgrade, they can buy their way out of some appalling customer service problem.
I don't want any of that. All I want is that you have the car there when I show up with a reservation, and that it's got gas in the tank, and that I don't feel like I've been completely ripped off. I just want Enterprise to become another boring vendor who quietly delivers the goods so I can run my business.

His success isn't driven by truth in what he says, it is driven by all of our shared experiences and our desire to argue our side of what we saw while at Enterprise. Enterprise sucks, Walmart sucks, McDonald's sucks, Burger King sucks, blah blah blah. I will tell you who sucks. That mom and pop rental company where you get screwed and when you complain JoBob tells you to go fuck yourself, that place sucks. Where is the anti-JoBob's Car Rental website? Oh yeah… there is no hope Jo Bob will ever pay you to shut up and leave him alone. |
Again, Jeahho, you've been a valued contributor, although we haven't seen as much of you lately. I'm glad to see you're back and I appreciate the comments.
