Default Re: Remarketing

I worked in remarketing in Columbus for about a year. I've gotta say it's better than rental simply because you're not dealing with the general public. Remarketing gave me TRUE sales experience. I know I know I know. Those of you in rental like to think it's "real" sales but we all know it's not.

Ultimately in remarketing, you're a used car sales person on the grandest scale. The hardest part of it is that your product is higher priced and in worse condition than ALL of your competitors (auctions, other wholesalers, etc) yet you're still expected to exceed your goals on a daily and monthly basis which can definitely prove to be a challenge. In addition, I can't imagine how tough the job would be right now because of the auto industry's economic challenges.

All in all, working in that department gave me the experience I needed to succeed outside of ERAC. It allowed me to find a "real" sales job where I built a client list and maintain it on a regular basis. Oh - and the new company allows me to wear something other than white shirts. It's incredible!
