I worked at a number of branches around San Antonio a number of years ago. I wonder if any of the BM's made it any higher up or if the RM's were transferred or fired.
Probably one of the best scams pulled on Enterprise periodically was one branch manager I worked for would open "phantom contracts". He got fired because he "rented" a car to one of his college frat buddies and the car got totaled. In reality, a contract was "opened" but not signed by anyone and the BM would pocket rental money from his buddy. When the car was returned, the contract would be canceled as if no rental ever occurred.
On my very last day, a regular but very (bitchy) difficult customer called from a dealership at 2 minutes to 6:00 just one too-many times. I got the call and an ear full of explecatives. I told her we would be there in about 10-15 minutes. I took the car as if I were picking her up and went to a convenience store instead. When I returned, everyone was already out of the office. I dropped the keys through the slot and taped a note to the front door addressed "To The Bitch" "...you screamed at the wrong person all this time...."
I picked up my last check that evening from admin before they knew what happened.
