Enough of the Ass Kissing. Heck, might even be AS himself tooting his own horn. hehe

I've known AS for years, going all the way back to our California days.

Positives: He's a very bright guy, totally understands the business drivers and how to make money, works hard at trying to be personable (memorizes jokes to always have one handy), and is willing to work very hard.

Negatives: He's the master politician. Listen to him fawn over the upper management when they stop by and you'll see what I mean. He'll drop everything if someone requires some ass kissing. The guy has virtually no loyalty to his people. He'll also take most to all of the credit when things go well, but pass the blame on down to others when they don't.

In the ERAC business everyone makes some good calls and some bad judgement calls (not the black and white decisions, but the grey ones - when to cut off a shop that's behind in payments or those tougher rental - who gets a car - decisions), it's the nature of the business. But if you're working for AS, just be safe and conservative in your decision making because he rarely stands up for his staff if things go south.

Record profits, he'll gladly take the trophy - conversions on his watch, it's always someone else's fault.

Yes, this sounds bad. But he's not a bad guy once you know his game and how he operates. His heart is in the right place most of the time and he's probably not aware of his shortcomings.
