Another area of UK law that ERAC manifestly ignores at ALL sites surrounds the disposal of 'hazardous waste', some changes were made to the law on 16th July 2005. 'hazardous waste' includes the following (to name but a few items) * oiled rags (ie- those used to wipe the dip-stick when checking oil)
-oiled rags CANNOT be put into a standard bin, they MUST (it is LAW!) be disposed of correctly, at my branch, and every ERAC branch they just get put into the standard waste bins!! this is illegal.
*water from valet bay (ie-car wash water/chemicals
a business CANNOT just let this water run into drains, or even worse-into the water course, it must be at least partially filtered before being disposed of, oil and other chemicals MUST be removed before this happens!, again-this not done at any branch!, and this is UK law!
**these two examples are the most obvious ones that erac just ignore, there are many many more.
**it costs money for a large bussiness to behave in a repsonsible mannor, and ERAC would rather make a little bit extra money today, than safeguard the environment in the UK for future generations- it is the responsbility of everyone to not let them do this.
** the environment agency has just received further funding of £4 million to tackle issues like this, their Hotline number (to report incidents) is
0800 807 060, dont take my word for it- see
