In my old deal we had a car prep that interviewed for MT, didn't get it and became a car prep. He worked as a car prep and saw the MT job from the inside, and was more convinced than ever that he wanted the job as MT. He could sell waiver, sell-up, and of course he didn't mind washing the cars. Imagine someone who REALLY REALLY WANTED the job, and we turned him down again when he re-applied as an MT. Unbelieveable. I knew my RRM would turn him down, but I sent him to the RRM anyway for the interview. The guy had all the key ingredients, except two... he was African-American and overweight. My RRM was pissed at me for advancing him in the interview process. How great is that?
