I don't know what it's like everywhere else, but where I was HR was a joke. The HR head was a douchebag, and his job was more like that of Joseph Goebbels. When I first met him I thought he was an alright guy, but as soon as I had to start dealing with him I realized what a complete waste he and the the whole department were.
