Re: another bumper "damage" scam what i think is funny is the interpretation that erac makes money from damaged cars. 1)most erac branches have designated body shops that ONLY do Enterprise cars for the simple purpose of not having to wait for something to be fixed becuase we can't rent it while it is in the shop. 2)Have you had damage to your car recently? Do you realize that there is NO mark up and in fact you are being charge parts and about $35/hour labor where a normal body shop will charge $50 to $150/hour. 3)Do you realize how many dishonest people damage cars and do whatever they can to get out of it.. even attempt to decieve by magically reconsidering and wanting to purchase DW over the phone while they have a damaged car in their driveway? How is Enterprise supposed to know. 4)If the damage is on the contract then Enterprise has NO legal recourse to charge you and ERAC will probably get shafted once again. And don't worry... when you end up not paying your bill you will be put on DO NOT RENT which is something to protect Enterprise from loosing money from you in the future. So that whole "I will rent with another company" is not a preference... it's a neccesity. Now believe me... This post is accusatory. But we are NO WAY infalable. We are people too. So if a mistake was made then I hope that you are not negatively impacted in ANY WAY. However, before you run off saying that you are being scammed... Just think about my day... I had a customer who thought since the return date on the contract had already passed... then he could keep the car. When the police arrested him he said that it was his car now and he won't tell them where it is. In 3 months if that car is not found it is going to come largely out of my paycheck. Unfortunately it is the morons like these that make a company like Enterprise have to be so rigid about protecting our assets. |
