Default Re: Problems with GP45-all Regions

While reading this keep in mind that I quit ERAC because of all the bullshit. However I never saw CDW as a scam. It was very difficult to sell in my office and I spent entirely too much time trying to placate customers who damaged vehicles. I ran through every argument from "I shouldn't have to pay for this, I wouldn't even have been in your car if I hadn't been in an accident", or "It was the other guys fault I dont care if he didnt have insurance why should I have to pay, go sue him" and my favorite "It was there when I picked it up" when I knew damn well it wasn't as the car was checked out by me and it was new.

Now CDW is not the save all that proponents wish it to be nor is it as scam. Many talk about the cost.
It's anywhere between 12.99 and 21.99 depending on the group.

The high end cost is regulated by the state and most car companies charge the highest amount allowed by law.

Since they insure anyone they charge the maximum amount, unlike your insurance co they are not allowed to run a DMV report to check your driving history or do a credit report like many insurance companies do. Think of the high risk insurance companies that do SR22 they charge a lot too

If you get it an accident it is definately not a scam. If you don't well that's left up to opinion

For those that don't take it and get into an accident they have to pay their deductible, and since 90% of insurance companies dont pay for loss of use you pay that too. This is not just with enterprise it is with all rental companies.

Many say, so what I have to pay my deductible, well it's a payment on something you don't and will never own and chances are your insurance rates will go up as well, especially if you are renting a car because you were in an accident.

The big one is if you are traveling on business. If your company does not insure you and you rely on your own you had better make damn sure you have a business rider. If you don't your insurance will not cover you. I know I had this happen to a customer.

Now the flip side of this.

CDW costs. It can cost a lot if you are in a car for a long time and I don't think spending 200 or 300 dollars is worth it.

CDW will not cover you if you do anything violating the contract, and if you look at the back there are a lot of rules and stipulations.

If you have USAA insurance dont take it. USAA waives the deductible, pays loss of use and will not raise your rates the first time.

If you have been with your insurance co over 10 years with no accident don't take it they to will most likely waive everything
