Not to jump on big Pharma, but Im a sales manager for a Fortune 500 company and former ERAC employee. I get people every day applying to my company wanting to get out of Pharm.
An outsiders view on pharm: You get paid better than ERAC but not great to be a PR rep, not a sales person. Yes you get a company car, but you spend your days bringing subway lunches to doctors that dont want to see you any way. They give you 30 secconds of their time while you pimp your drugs, and try to make them write scripts for your products, without regards for the patients needs. All they want are the free samples, if you think differently you're kidding yourself. Walking in to talk to that bitch of an office manager will just about make you puke, but I have to see her every other week, but Dr. Jhgfjuwtfiuwt is nice for the 8 secconds he gives me while signing for his drugs. The day goes by the whole time wishing you worked for a better drug company, and hating the people in your "pod" who are not pulling their weight.
Im not slamming Pharm jobs, but it just shows that there is more than one view on the situation
By the way ERAC sucks...
