Well, I've seen "Super Size Me" also and I really liked it. It's obvious to me that a devastating independent documentary could be made about Enterprise and hitting all the points would be like shooting fish in a barrel. It would probably even end up with a bit of "Roger & Me" as I tried to interview Andy Taylor who would no doubt never return my calls asking for an interview. There'd be lots of footage throughout the movie of me talking with a
PR minion on the phone and asking for a call back from Andy. We'd keeping counting and go over 100 separate requests, I'm sure.
And the barriers to entry for making a film like this are pretty darned small. For less than $10,000, I could buy the camera and Apple computer to edit the film on. The total budget could easily be $30,000. I hear Morgan Spurlock made "Supersize Me" for $60,000. They'd be some travel as I interviewed current and former employees, people maimed in crashes caused by lack of proper maintenance, pissed off employees, body shop owners and dealers, infuriated insurance companies, mom and pop rental agencies driven out of business, customers scammed with "discovered" damage, etc.
I love movies but I hate the movie industry, so I don't know how the distribution part would work out, although if I had a good movie and posted a good trailer on Failing Enterprise, we might get some traction.
The problem would be in getting time to make it.
The final film would be 90 minutes of Enterprise getting slammed again and again and again on all the issues for which they've become famous. We'd have an undercover camera and dozens of customers asking "But what about my reservation?". Oh, man, we'd pound them. I'd have to go easy on them otherwise people just wouldn't believe it was all true.
