Also you can leave the e-brake on the whole trip. We did that. It was annoying seeing the light and the dinging, but just turn up the radio a notch.

We ran the car at 4000rpm in neutral (limited at that) until it ran out of gas. The tank had 50% in it before this. We called it the "reliability test" of the ecotec motor. lol.
