discrimination fairness has nothing to do with it. cash deposits are a risk because there is no guarantee that you will get any owed amount past the deposit amount. this is why ERAC requires proof of residence up the as s before renting on cash. we would use our discretion on whether or not to roll a car or walk a customer. If two old people came in and wanted to rent a car on cash, I'd be more lenient on the whole two utility bills matching address on license thing. However if a 21 year old punk came in with cash we'd find a reason not to rent the car. Illegal? Probably. |
