The lowest rates, best facility and superior operations management mean nothing if you're not on-site. The only way ERAC would benefit from their current situation would be if "everyone" was offsite like at some major U.S. airports. Otherwise, why not book a CCAR on Orbitz.com for $14/day through Advantage Rent-A-Car, or Fox Rent-A-Car for $23/day offsite as well at Pearson?

C2 has no choice but to win the bid when it comes up in couple years. Make no mistake, ERAC knows this and C201 WILL be onsite in a couple years. In the meantime, they can't tell everyone to go to sleep, so they tell everyone they're shit. For those not in mgmt positions, area mgr's look at airport experience as a negative, becuase the person has been away from "the real branches". I've never seen one area mgr get excited about getting a former airport employee in over 5 years. No wonder they can't get anybody to work at C201 -- you go to the airport to kill your career. Recap: No more money; working at 530am, 10pm or from 9-8 on weekends; a failing branch; no respect and no benefit to your C2 career. Who's interested?

The airport should be the flagship location, but instead C2 mgmt themselves have given-up until C201 is on-site. Just a few more years, eh guys?
In the meantime, they have to provide "real" incentives to attract the right type of people who can make the branch the best it can be. Problem is, area mgrs don't want to lose their rising stars to a black hole, so they sent idiots.
And I'm sure they'll convince that corporate traveller who's heard it all to purchase CDW, and take the upgrade for only $10/day more.
True. Sounds like you work there...

I heard that the long term plan is to get on site and use the current Carlingview location as a car wash/storage facility.

In the meanwhile the strategy is to have no strategy other than toughing it out under really incredibly challenging conditions.

If we paid significantly more to airport (C201) employees, I firmly believe it would attract more capable staff (ticket writers...) They would endure the situation a little more willingly and perhaps improve the situation.
