I quit Enterprise last week. I got another job that is paying me a lot more money with less hours. Enterprise is in no way a perfect company. I will give them credit though, because it was the sales numbers and experience that I got with Enterprise that got me my new job.

I was able to meet with upper management and state that I received a better offer and there was nothing they could have done to change my mind. I left on good terms and did not burn any bridges. I cannot describe the happiness and relief that I felt when I left the regional corporate office, knowing that my Enterprise days were over and the days of dealing with customers, shady service advisors/managers at dealerships and body shops that would never pay their bills were no more. Ditto for car repos and after hours meetings with Branch and Area Managers.

For the ERACERS who are left, I would say to stay in the job market, post your resume on Monster, Hot Jobs, Medzilla and Career Builder. As long as you request a salary of 40,000 or more Enterprise will never find your resume because they only look for people requesting 30-35. Add any recent accomplishment you achieve to your resume and keep it updated. Get out and market yourself and stay in contact with ex ERACERS that have left for greener pastures.

Create a folder in your work e mail and keep your resume there. If you meet someone who is hiring while you are at work you can print out a copy of your resume to give them. I got my new position through a friend who used to work for Enterprise. Enterprise is a great start to a career as a stepping stone, but it is definitely not a career.
