Default Re: "Rental Car Companies Get Aggressive on Damage" From NYT

To add another bit of clairty to you experince on the indention.

Typically if you buy the coverage the agent hands you off to the car quickly and I know most I talked with said "Dont worry about the damage, you have the coverage, your all set to go".

Why does it happen this way, most likely the damage was there previously, overlooked on the return which it occured. If you take the waiver and dont inspect then I "surprise" discover it when you come back, say dont worry you had the coverage, we'll just write it up as unknown. This way I shuffle the repair off from being undocumented to LDW claim, it hits my books differently and really doesnt cost me as much (as far as my books go which determines how much I bank).

So I keep renting the same car until either A) I get it passed off on LDW or 2) I tag someone with it that doesnt argue and just pays...
