If you're coming in as an MT, you're within driving distance to the training center, within the region, no overnights necessary (unless, maybe, a freak storm hits while you're training - unlikely). Actually they book rooms at a shitty travelodge just across the road from the head office in U1. The whole scenario seems true to me - I know people who were shown copies of paycheques at their first round interview.
