NO--- there are SOME companies who ARE for the people- i.e. 'not for profit' associations, etc. who want to HELP people and not suck the life force out of them. LOOK LETS FACE IT...HOW MUCH MONEY DOES 'ANDY' and CO. NEED ANYMORE? DOESNT HE HAVE ENOUGH YET? what?- has it been some 40 years since he began this company? When will all the planes, limo's and houses be enough for him and his family? what does he do to help society? give a paltry 200,000 bucks to help the tsunami effort? HE IS A KNOWN RACIST! look at all the lawsuits this company has had against them big f-king deal. he is only for himself and a greedy BASTARD at that, and will never change. dont be surprised if he runs for an office one day either!

Did you know the old president of the United Way ( Non profit Org.) was paying himself a salary of $350,000 a year, Yeah he's in it for the people Pretty Everyone , Everywhere is for the money. There are a few people out there who do stuff for love of people which is great but its only if there are financially independent and can afford to give their time. Shit if I didn't have to worrry about paying bills I would build houses for Habitat for Humanity. |

Just a thought - if every company had a website like this, do you think most of them would have disatisfied employees and ex employees? My money is on yes. Enterprise has its faults, and I have had enough of it to be honest, so I will do what people do in these situations - find another job and quit. I won`t slag of a company for being interested in money - why do any of us work? Dou you think Tony Blair, George Bush etc are in it for the people, or for the money and the go trip that comes with power? Bill Gates - doesnt` need any more money, but the power is also a drug to him. He certainly isnt in it to make humanity better at the end of the day is he? Facts of life time- Companies employ people People get a job for money People who get paid enough and enjoy their job will stay until a better offer comes along People who don`t get paid enough or don`t enjoy their job will find another job The company will replace these people with other people to earn them money These people they employ may well have been woking for other companies beforehand. See step 1. Money makes the business "community" go round. It also throws up some really greedy bastards along the way.Nature of life..

Funny you use United Way as your example. Erac strong arms its employees to offer a voluntary contribution to them, then hangs some ridiculous bonus in front of the area and regional managers to get 100% contribution from their employees. This is probably because some deal was made between the two companies. ALL companies (non profit or not) are in business to make money. Some just make more of an effort to value its employees than others. Erac is NOT one of those employers.

Check this out; http://www.usatoday.com/money/media/...M_Exclude=Juno Its everywhere. I won't donate to the united way because of that.

Thats because, although retention is supposed to be benchmark, employees that leave are easily replaced. 2 months down the line it is a case of "who?". The only people you will really screw over by quitting (short term) are your friends and co-workers, and they will understand.

What till August ...On July 31st, management gets credited for the fiscal year's worth of profit-sharing. I am sure there are level 2 and 3 management just counting the days on the calendar till July 31st so they can quit the next day and still earn their profit sharing. Just an fyi...you could work all year Aug 1- July 30th ...quit July 30th and not get credited for that years worth...and that is your RETIREMENT PLAN (ya, they care!) I personally saw the company screw someone in this manner. Don't make that mistake! And before you erac-heads say "at least they HAVE profit-sharing".....the profit sharing only takes place of ERAC failing to contribute a nickel to any employees 401 retirement plan. It would be real hard for a 6 billion dollar company to get away with not paying their employees SOME kind of retirement. See, Andy is no dope. He knows 50 % of his employees are leaving in the first year or two, so he doesnt want to spend ANY money for employees retirement until he HAS to.... and guess what???? you are not minimally vested in your profit sharing for 3 years....7 years to be fully vested!!!! so they pay NOTHING towards your retirement for 3 years , and a fraction there after until 7 years! (when 75% of employees have quit) How many employees stay past 7 years??????? Ya, they care. ...and like I said before, if you leave before July 31st...you get ZERO company-backed retirement for that ENTIRE year. They got ot all figured out! I can just hear the dot matrix printers rattling away now with all the management "opportunities" after July 31st....HERE WE GROW AGAIN!!!!

oh he will (andy ) one day be another ken lay like enron....i betcha my bottom dollar.....that cheapo depot that he is.....and -a non profit CEO makes a 'paltry' 350,000 bucks IS A HELL OF A LOT LESS THAN THE MILLIONS ANDY AND HIS GANG ARE MAKING!!!!! FYI BUSH makes 300,000 and pays mucho taxes on it also and HE GETS TO KEEP NONE OF THE GIFTS THAT ARE GIVEN TO HIM BY OTHER HEADS OF STATE, they are gifts to the USA not him personally, and almost all other CEO make tons of money like in the millions not 300,000 a year which is NOTHING compared to what ANDY makes and is raking in. and yes if doesnt want to pay out in retirement cause most people leave after a few years or get 'harrassed out' so they end up paying nothing in retirement. he aint stupid
