| Why is this under hate mail? Doesn't seem to hate filled to me. Typical of the administrator to consider this hate mail. Anything that doesn't agree with his biased points obviously MUST be hate mail. #41. 2006-09-12 Dear Failing Enterprise, I noticed that even when someone politely disagrees with the assumptions of this website, it goes to Hate Mail, so I guess that is where this will go. My son has worked for enterprise in the North Texas/Dallas area for about 2 years and has been promoted to Branch Manager. It was hard washing cars in a tie in 100° weather. The hours are long. It has taught him a great deal about business and customer satisfaction. A lot of what has been said against Enterprise is true on the surface, but not when you look into it. 1) People have screamed at him because they said Enterprise would deliver a car. My son had to explain that Enterprise will pick you up (not deliver). Some of you have had to wait to be picked up. Unfortunately Enterprise does not have dozens of people to pick you up, but they will if you can wait. If they had enough people to pick you up instantly, you could not afford the rental. 2) If you didn't have Enterprise, you could do what I did as a younger man. When my car was broken, I walked or bummed a ride. Believe me, your friends appreciate Enterprise as the "anti-bum-a-ride" antidote. 3) Insurance agents tell you that you do not need the damage waiver or liability. With damage waiver, you do not have to file a claim on a new car that you are not used to driving. Plus most damage is fender bender types like found in parking lots and garages. Just hand the keys back to Enterprise upon returning the car and forget about it. Remember the Fokkers. 4) If an insurance agent tells you not to take insurance, this is for you. If you total the rental car and God forbid, you total another car and it is your fault, remember that your are covered UP TO YOUR LIMITS. Your insurance will cover who you hit and if anything is left over, they will apply that to the rental car. Better hope you have enough liability. I am not a lawyer and I am not giving legal advice, but I am told that you might be able to sue the insurance agent that told you not to take it, "you are fully covered". My understanding is that the agent is an authority figure and expert in the area of insurance in your mind and he may have mislead you. In any event, your insurance premiums may go up. The agent is probably not your best friend. He may actually be in business of making money off of your insurance. Maybe higher rates are in his best interest. Besides, what insurance agent would tell you that your insurance is inadequate. Maybe you would ask why he didn't tell you that when you were his prospect and not a client. If this is over your head, just consult an attorney if you have an accident under the above conditions. 5) Liability insurance, from my understanding, will cover you and again, you will not have to file with your insurance. 6) Yes, credit cards will cover damages on your rental car. Again, I am not lawyer but: A) Make sure your credit card payment is not late. B) Make sure your car is a type that is covered C) Make sure you read the fine print D) Credit card companies are companies that are business to make money. Paying $35,000 for a totaled rental car is not my idea of making money and is probably not theirs either. There is probably some squirm room. The Devil is in the details. 7) When you reserve most things, it is reserved and it is held. From my experience, you also have to pay non-refundable money to reserve. Since you do not pay money to reserve, the rental car will rent when you do not arrive on time for sure. Since companies are there to make money for their owners or stockholders, what company in their right mind would hold a car for someone who might not show up when there is a customer on the premises that wants to rent your reserved car. Remember that "a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush". It is a hard fact of life. Your idea of reservations is one reason airlines charge a lot but still have horrible profits. Enterprise is not obligated to lose money. 8) Enterprise is one of the best companies to train, to learn how to run a business and to have on your resume. 9) Enterprise is a sales company that rents cars and fills a much needed service when the car you love gets sick and needs repair. 10) Rent a car, do not walk and do not bum. |
