You could look him up on wherever he lived in Florida and find out if they have him in custody or not. Any idea what he's wanted for and he's on the lam?

Getting close to the deadline! Any word from this guy or his Mommy? I'm just curious, how would you be able to collect anything from him if no one can seem to locate him?

He probably doesn't have anything to collect. However, his mother (who has a job and owns a home) can be bled dry, especially since she didn't bother to show up for court.

They can enter a judgement against him and when (if) he does reemerge then his wages and property are fair game.

He keeps sabotaging himself into a downward spiral. His driver's license is suspended, there's a warrant out for his arrest in Florida (and they're willing to pay for extradition), and now, within a few days, he and his mother are going to get saddled with a massive default judgement. His mother continues to let him post messages from her house (or posts them herself) and is almost certainly meeting the criminal definition of harboring a fugitive.

I'm sure he's spent quite a lot of time on the Internet researching how he might change his name or identity and try to get out from under all of this. However, it's 2008, even in Oklahoma, and the opportunities to pull that off disappeared a long time ago. I'll bet he's living a very miserable life.

Maybe once our collection efforts start to bite he'll decide it's best to return to Florida and do some time and hope I'll forget about him.

Meanwhile, his mother owns a house and has a steady paycheck and made a very serious mistake in not responding to the suit.

They're willing to pay for extradition? Do you know what he's wanted for? He must've committed some violent crime or committed grand theft for that to happen.

If he defaults can he also be arrested for contempt of court?

He's had a DUI (more than one, I think I recall) and he didn't complete his probation properly. There may be other things I'm not aware of.

The lawsuit is a civil matter, not a criminal matter. The worst that can happen is that he loses the suit and gets a judgement against him and possibly a restraining order, which I'm sure he would violate, subjecting him to arrest and prosecution.

It must suck being thirty years old, living with his mother, working under the table for cash and having to either get a ride everywhere or risk arrest the first time he gets pulled over, and just generally having to hide out all the time.

He's got a four-year degree; I'm amazed he's screwed up so badly.

Usually law enforcement will pay for extradition if a felony is involved....happens all the time

It's probably going to be a few weeks before we can get a hearing with the judge and get the default judgement.

We've heard nothing from loserboy.
