Default Ex-erac Employee Speaks Out

I used to work at Enterprise for almost 4 years, and I completely agree with what everyone is saying about bashing ERAC. They do suck you in, like a cult, make you work 12+ hours a day, get bitched at by customers and accounts, while expecting you to sell the insurance over 50% all the time. Everyone does "bleed green" and that is why they hire people ONLY out of college, because they don't know there is anything else out there. I was one of those people. And being a female in the management position--RIDICULOUS!!! There were only 4 of 42 female managers in my region, and less than 10% total females working in our region. Talk about an equal opportunity employer!! And in response to the retention rate, ours was about 30%!! And the fact that only 2 managers were promoted to area managers in the entire 3 1/2 years I worked for the company, wow, I really wanted to stay with Enterprise. 2 out of 42... guess I would have to wait till I was 50+ to get promoted (oh wait, no one at ERAC works there if they are over 30).

The only good thing that I have to say about ERAC is that many employers who are searching for potential employees look for Enterprise employees. They know we work our ass off, go through a decent sales/management training program, and get paid crappy for doing it. It was not difficult for me at all to find another job, so all of those current unhappy employees.... have no fear, a better job is out there!!!

And for all the current ERAC employees that disagree with my message, just wait, the time will come when you leave/get fired and you will agree with everything too.

I was an Assistant Manager at ERAC and I have never been shafted so bad by anyone else in my life. I am honestly a well-liked, funny guy who is intelligent. My group rental manager was such a bastard. I never got promoted because I never smoked pot with him and never gambled at his house like all the other asskissers did. Not only that, but a crack addict (no, really--I'm not joking; he was fired for stealing later on after I left, but was the best of buds with the Group rental mgr) beat me for branch manager position even though his exposure was through the roof and all I did was have the highest ESQi in my entire region for 5 consecutive months and worked my ass off until it was raw. I think that ERAC ruined me in a way. I have never been so close to going "postal" on anyone in my life.

Yes, the normal person can be adversely affected after 1-2 years at ERAC. Ever noticed that most of the "highly successful" level 3 and above employees are also some of the biggest tools as well? For those of us who came to our senses and moved on, we are the people who will be far successful in the long run than an ERAC counter-monkey will be.
