| Okay, so I've rented from Enterprise before. It wasn't the worst experience ever. I purchased their insurance when I rented because I only carry liability on my personal vehicles and I didn't wanna hear any crap if anything happened. The good thing is last time I stayed within the state. This time I'm driving from NC to NY. First, I think the "Unlimited Mileage" rules are total bull. It makes no sense to give someone who is driving 700 miles 1 way only 100 miles per day yet someone who stays within the same state has unlimited miles. Last October I rented a car for 10 days and stayed within the state and put 2000 miles on the car. Just makes no sense at all to me. When I talked to enterprises "customer service" she said I may be able to pay a flat fee to get unlimited mileage. So I called my local ERAC to be told it would be around $15 a day. That seems so freakin ridiculous to me !!! Anyway my point here is does anyone have any suggestions on a company wtih good rates with true unlimited mileage ? I really wanted to rent from ERAC again since I know what to expect and also the rates for the car itself is really good. I just wish they would stop being so annoying with this 15 a day for mileage. For 10 days thats a lot of money for something I think should be included !! Thanks for listening Tracie |

| Call Hertz. Unlimited mileage, 24 hour roadside and for 10 days, rate should be very competitive. |

| The ERAC website (don't call the branch or the 800 #) normally has good rates but as for the unlimited mileage the only time they do that is for insurance replacement which by nature has unlimited mileage. Tell the branch that your personal car was stolen and that you are being reimbursed for your rental by your insurance company. (so you don't have to give them claim info)(don't tell them that your car is in the shop or they will want shop info so they can see when your car would be done) That way the branch will give you the insurance rates and unlimited mileage. When they ask where are you going with the vehicle just tell them local but you have a wedding this weekend in East Jabip (from what I understand is lovely this time of year). That way they have no reason to wack you for mileage because you told them ahead of time. Just be sure to overstate where you are going for example, if you are from Florida and you are going to northern Georgia tell them that you are going up to Virginia or NJ. :) __________________ "Never trust a big butt & a smile"... | As a manager I gave unlimited miles all the time. I thought the in the bordering states only unlimited was crap too. It isn't the managers that want to limit you it all comes down to the flip again. If they give unlimited a car may get "miled up" too fast to get any money on the resale. Especially if it's miled up before the 6 month hold limit (thats the amount of time ECRAP is required to keep the vehicle by the manufacturer.) I had this happen to several cars but to be honest I didn't care. I made money, the customer was happy. So f*#k em. AM's and above, and especially remarketing get so tied up in the all mighty dollar they forget gthey are a customer based service. If you milk everyone for every dollar and put strict limitations on them yes you will make money today but what about tomorrow. |
