Are you guys all on dope? I've made 2 purchases in the last week where I had to sit down with some dipshit telling me about products. I went out and bought a new car and they tried to sell me all this life and disability garbage and an extended warranty. I also bought a cell phone where they also offered extended warranty. I knew right away these guys were on commission and rode the hell out of me to buy their shitty products. Fridges, stoves, even lawn mowers for shit sakes. Everybody is trying to make a buck off insurance these days, you idiots need to get over the fact that it's not just ERAC

Fahrenheit 9/11 was an examination by Michael Moore of the Bush administration in the wake of the events of 9/11, and how Bush and his inner circle never pursued the Saudi connections . . . despite the numerous clues they had that pointed in their direction. The film also brought up how the FBI alerts basically induced enough fear into US citizens to allow the Patriot Act (which infringes on basic civil rights) to be put in place.

And Enron was involved in accounting fraud. Its European operations filed for bankruptcy and had to seek Chapter 11 protection here in the states. At the time, it was the biggest bankruptcy in US history and cost over 4,000 employees their jobs. In addition, the scandal also caused the disbanding of the Arthur Anderson accounting firm, which had big effects on the wider business world.

The above are what I would consider major controversy. To say Enterprise Rent A Car is similar to these events is like saying a crack in the side walk is comparable to the Grand Canyon. They are not even close.

Enterprise’s shady ways might be more suited for Dateline. But even then, ERAC, sadly, isn’t the only company that prays on college grads and over works them. Nor is it the only company with questionable customer service.

Like another poster here said, you’d have to mix in numerous other companies with similar shady practices and present the film as examples of bad customer relations. A movie solely about ERAC would interest the average movie-goer about as much as getting a free enema.

And I agree. Pushing employees to upsale their customers isn't gonna make the news.

ERAC is not the same as the examples you gave. I worked with an MT who would tell elderly people of the (untrue) high rollover rate of the cars they would rent to get them to get DW. This guy is now a BM. That is like the cell phone guy telling you that the cell phone had a high rate of exploding and catching fire in your pants.

I also worked with numerous people who would literally tell people to sign here, here, and here. I am not exaggerating one bit. That is like the car salesman asking you to sign the warranty without you explaining it.

If someone does just sign here, here, and here, then they are an idiot for doing so. Go ahead, blame Erac for you not reading what you sign. As far as the elderly people, yeah, scare tactics are not the best way to go. Again, it's all about comfort level regardig risk and having the balls to say no. This fucking society is all about blaming everyone else.
How about this, I am blaming ????? for ruining my life by creating this site, which if I had not seen, I might have continued working at Erac. Instead, this site made me realize what a bad company it is and the reputation it has, but if I had not seen this site, I would not have known that. I think I better get me a lawyer. Anyone know who was behind the lawsuit against MacDonald's when the lady sued because she got burnt by hot coffee, which she was not warned about?

No it would never make a movie or "the news". 20/20 is investigative reporting (not a news broadcast)...Many people rent cars - so many people (especially the regular millions of 20/20 viewers) would pay attention to a segment about the questionable practices of Enterprise.

Just think about all of the people ERAC had reservations for and didn't actually get a car. Think about the corporate account customers who found out that their rates were higher than retail rates (w/ unlimited miles).
Among the other things mentioned earlier.

Hey, I agree. I was just saying that, should it get some sort of media attention, it would be better suited for a news show . . . not a movie. I think the chances are highly unlikely, but it is possible. I mean, I could win the lotto. Just trying to be fair.

It's a fair question. McDonald's and Wal-Mart certainly strike a chord better with the typical American, and it might be hard to muster up much sympathy for college graduates in a "Management Trainee" program.

A lot would depend on the style and attitude of the movie. Michael Moore got it right when he chronicled his attempts to meet with GM Chairman Roger Smith, and the Supersize Me idea was very clever.

Maybe Failing Enterprise Movie needs to be a journal of my attempts to have a reservation honored. We'd use a hidden camera and just let the tape roll through the lies and spin.

Please don't. It definitely sounds illegal to capture this footage. Keep it off of Failing Enterprise.
