SOP is an acronym for Standing Operating Procedure. As for admin needing access to the internet, loss control needed it to access insurance company websites and a litany of other sites to lengthy to go into in this forum, but car preps and MT's don't need access to the internet. They should be washing cars or renting them, otherwise send the car preps home and MTs study for skill or grill. As for the manager being ok with you making videos on company time, how is that making money for ERAC? That's his whole purpose. No job in the US allows you to screw around on company time. If that's your perception of a job, then good luck holding onto a paycheck for the rest of your life. As for wanting to check your personal email on an ERAC computer, unregistered, again, is correct. Car preps are not allowed in the office except for the purposes he mentioned. You're not being paid to check your personal email. You're being paid to wash cars.

YOU SAID: ""No job in the US allows you to screw around on company time."" http://failingenterprise.com/forums/...ead.php?t=5675 Ohh?? hrrm, it's funny isn't it , better watch what you say , you just contradicted yourself and my boss was very cool just havning me sit there and do nothing when there wasn''t anything to do |

Oh I know it happens. Like I said, we played baseball in my office before I went to loss control when there werent' any managers around. It's a managers job to control that, especially among the car preps because they're an expense ERAC can do without. I know your boss wasn't an MT, I'm not sure why that's an issue. MT's aren't the boss of anyone. Being an MT I felt like a piece of s**t. That's why I transfered to loss control, and ultimately left ERAC.

Hey sucks, everyone screws around at work. But only idiots post it on the internet. You dropped the speeding part. That was another cause. Oh yeah, when you were asked about the videos, you lied and said you emailed them to friends. Where you posted them on Youtube. I would love to see what your letter said.

I don't think I said noone ever screws around at work. What I'm saying is that it's a managers job to control that. Like unregistered said. But that being said there's a difference between an MT screwing around and a car prep screwing around. Car preps are expendable and should be sent home at the earliest opportunity. If your manager didn't understand that than he was a poor manager and needed to go away.
