you just learned a tough life lesson.
i know it stings a bit, and maybe writing your long winded letter made you feel better, but you look like a bitch.
harsh i know, and i don't mean to be offensive, but you need to get called out.
people like yourself made this the worst job i have ever had, and i've done every laborsome job under the sun.
accept personal responsbillity, you forgot your wallet.
enterprise did not, you are 100% at fault.
sadly in this day and age of litgation and blame/fault, everyone is looking to point a finger...even the poor sap who loses his wallet.
be a man, own up, quit acting like a bitch

Sorry, I'm not familiar with your forum structure. I realize that I've posted the above rant in the wrong area but being an unregistered guest I don't have the ability to move it to the appropriate thread.

Really, you don't mean to be offensive? I'm not your friend and you're not mine so suggesting that I look or act like a bitch might seem, well, offensive. Just so you know.

Why? Because I nicely asked someone to check for something I forgot in the car? We've all had shitty jobs, hopefully you've moved on from yours.

I'm pretty sure I did.

Did I find something, during the course of my work day, laiden with identification, phone numbers, addresses, and personal contact information and then, instead of contacting that person to arrange return of their valuables, steal certain items of greatest monetary value and use them for my own personal gain? You might be overshooting the mark a bit with the "you are 100% at fault" ascertation.

you know i'm right about your fault
you fucked up, learn from it
keep your wallet on you
it is not ERAC's duty to hold your hand.

Yes, thank God for that ;) With [former] employees like you, it's no wonder a forum like this is necessary.

I am an ex employee. I hated that job more than anything, but the person saying that it was her fault go ahead and change positions for a second. You would want somebody to check for your wallet too. She wasn't demanding the world. That wasn't hard for the employee to do, and the person was not being put out. I can't believe you think she made a unreasonable request. When you are in customer service, you have to do your job, service the customers. Yes, many customers are pains in the asses, but this seemed like a pretty simple request. I hope you are not in a sales or customer service position anymore, because you probably are not very good. I usually stick up for the employee but not this time. You seem like a asshole. Again, i used to get angry with the customers, but have a heart and do your job. It was an easy request.

two types of customers would call after they forgot stuff in vehicles
1. the customer who is very polite and cordial
2. the customer who is irate and billigerant and blames ERAC for the loss

customer 1 I would help all day long, I'm not heartless and can relate to losing items, esp wallets.
customer 2 can get fucked, and that's what I imagine this "poster" falls into.
sorry if that makes me an asshole, that's just how it is

if you really are an ex employee then i know you can relate to my position

When I first contacted the Dulles office, I was very cordial and really did feel concerned about putting someone out. I wasn't placing blame, as it's been so eloquently put here, I was the dumbass who forgot their wallet.

This is the exact conversation...

Enterprise: "EnterpriserentacarIAD"

Me: "Hi, we returned a black Lucern yesterday and I forgot my wallet in the center console and I was wondering if anyone had turned it in or if you could check the console for me?"

Enterprise: "Hold please"

Me: while on hold I was thinking that she would need my contract number or something in order to determine what car I was in so I collected all of that so I would be ready when she came back.

Enterprise: "There were no items left in the vehicle"

Me: "Oh, you already checked?"

Enterprise: She was now having a conversation with another employee (not related to my call) and apparently didn't hear my question.

Me: "Is there any way you could check the center console, my name is ****** and m [interrupted]"

Enterprise: "Sir, I just checked the car and there were no items in there. If something is turned in we will call you."

I gave her my contract number and name and made sure she had my correct phone number but never heard back. I called a few days later and talked to someone else who was very nice but told me that the car was no longer on the lot and that no wallet fitting that description had been returned.

I've got to be honest with you, reliving that conversation now, I'm amazed that I wasn't a total asshole. When you KNOW that you forgot something and you know EXACTLY where you forgot it and you know that the person you're talking to could give a shit, it becomes very frustrating, especially when you're 3000 miles away. It's a helpless feeling. She said she searched the car but she didn't even know who I was or what car I was in until the very end of our conversation. I realized this after the fact and didn't bother to call again, knowing that I would receive the same response.

I am not an irate person, never have been. Even when told that I should "get fucked", or that I "look like a bitch, act like a bitch", or am "a pussy" and "retarded"... all in one afternoon by people I was seeking advice and help from. I find it funny that someone who assumes to know me and my character suggests that I "get fucked" and in the same breath suggests that I am irate.
