We are told to take the full excess - certainly in the branches I have worked in we do explain this up front. The reason we charge the full excess is because none of us can estimate damages - its not our job to do that - we are not car body repairers. If we were to estimate it, chances are we would underestimate it, then the customer would not be happy when we came and asked them for me - and would probably not pay. Taking a customer excess for damage they would not have known about is probably the worst part of the job (unless the customer is an arsehole to be honest, and in that case they probably treated the staff like a piece of shit at the start of the rental). In our group we have a rule that if the damage is not repaired within 3 months the excess is refunded and its our problem. This differs from group to group. Bottom line with damage - 2 people check out the car at the start of the rental so the damage is agreed upon. If it returns with damage that is not marked on the contract you have to rely on the original check out. Don`t blame the staff if youthink it was there before - you would or would not be suprised the amount of customers who claim new damage was there in the first place.

I use to work at Enterprise. They use paintless dent repair. They get negotiated rates. Our branch it was around $60 for a dent. Also, estimates have to be done in 30 days (it might be 60 days) or the claim is dropped by loss control. Just keep on them. Good luck!

Don’t feel lonely. This sounds and reads just like my experience in Phoenix, AZ. I called the CEO the same date I returned the car and got a credit on my credit card. I think Enterprise Rent-a-car is a fly-by-night company. There don't care about your next rental. They just wanted to make as much money as they can on your first rental and do not want you come back. I am renting cars from Avis and Hertz now since they are in the same market that Enterprise build it reputation on. Dan

Jsimone, HAve you ever had a good experience with a rental car company or do you get your kicks renting from ERAC and complaining about it. I'll bet you sit in front of your computer every night complaining about Everything. Look, Shave your back hair, put on your toupe and some high karate and go find a lady. Try to forget all the times you've bee rejected. I'll bet your mom still loves you, huh. Huh Tiger? Go get em.

If the damage is smaller then the size of your thumb, ECRAP will not even fix it. If they do fix it they have special contracts with body shops so it will cost no more than 100 bucks to fix. The pinheads on here from e do not know shit. That is why they work there, well until they get a DUI or STD. I would not pay them anything until you see the repair bill in writing. They will not take you to court for that small of a bill. They write off thousands of dollars of damage every week at every branch. I would also suggest you go spend 50 bucks at a vinyl sign making company and have them put on your back window, "Don not let enterprise rip you off, see www.failingenterprise.com" the admin of this site should sell these. I would buy one for each of my cars.
