We rented a car from Enterprise over the Christmas period - whilst driving it, one of the rear wheels got a puncture. we liaised with enterprise about this, changed the tire from them and took the car to a tire place and paid the bill for a new tire, as we didn't pay for CDW. After the car received the puncture, we noticed that there was a message on the dashboard indicating that traction control needed servicing. There was a button to reset this message which turned it off for a period of time. The car drove fine, there were no symptoms that anything was wrong. On returning the car to Enterprise, we explained about the puncture, filled out an accident report form and told the rep about the traction control message. Today, I receive a message on my machine from Enterprise saying that we are to receive a bill for the traction control repair. The rep didn't say how much or leave a phone number, so we are basically waiting for the letter to arrive. We're not sure if the traction control needed servicing before we rented the car - the reset button could have been pushed by the previous renter thereby removing the message temporarily. All we did were to be honest and point out a problem with the car. If we had done something that damaged the car, we would pay for it (as we did with the puncture), but we feel that Enterprise are passing the buck here. No-one knows why the traction control needed servicing, (we don't even know what is wrong with it) or that it originally happened during our rental period. How do I go about disputing this? What's the best place to start once we recieve the bill?

Go talk to the local dealership repair manager and tell him what happened. Chances are it's covered by warranty and ERAC can't hold you responsible. You paid for the tire and that should be all. Go speak with an area manager about it. A word to the wise...don't go to the ERAC office all pissed off and having a bad attitude. Do the opposite, explain the situation and they will take care of it for you. Unless you were negligent in some way, you should be off the hook. If you had purchased he DW you'd be done with the whole thing. I know everybody has the argument that their insurance covers the vehicle, their agent told them not to etc...well true enough but why, for goodness sake, would you want to use your own insurance to cover somebody else's car? It's a little silly don't you think? Most people have $500 deductibles and you would be out that amount for sure for any damage. Doesn't it make sense to use your own insurance for YOUR car?

Bubba's right. This should be covered under warranty. I would call loss control and ask why it would not be covered by warranty. __________________ Soylent Green is people!

Odds are the traction control light came on because the sensor needs to be reset. Most newer cars with traction or stability control have wheel mounted sensors that judge wheel speed. All 2007 and newer cars in america also have standard tire pressure monitoring systems that use sensors in the wheels as well (thank you Ford Explorer). Any ways, when the rims are removed to change the tire, the sensor is disconnected. this leads to the computer wondering where it is, thus causing the light to come on. Same thing happens with tire pressure monitors. They are getting kinda picky if they want you to pay for THAT. However, if the sensor was broken when detached, that could be an issue; and you may be responsible for that. If that is the case, take the bill to the tire place and go after them. Good luck. |

You're an idiot! Truly.

Ever heard of selfish fucking? It's when two individuals decide to fuck knowing the consequences could possibly lead to pregancy and they both know full well they have nothing more to offer their future unborn child anything more than a car renting and washing job at a company like Enterprise. What makes them truly pathetic idiots is if the couple who engaged in selfish fucking are both members of the "Supreme White Race". It must be totally depressing to be Caucasian, have a four year degree, and have nothing else or any other option but a car renting and cleaning eChimp at Enterprise. You're definitely changing and shaping the world as white doublewide trash in sales eChimp LOL!
