There is a section that covers vehicle drops and it states that if the car is damaged during the night and was not checked in by an ERAC employee the customer is held liable for the damages. The only way out of it is that they closed out your contract and then tried to contact you or rented the vehicle out without documentation of the damages that "You No Longer Have to Sign" per Loss Control's new policy. I give you this information not to bring down your hopes but to assist you in any way possible take the big green monster down!
Sorry for the long winded message, I am really pissed right now and it's all I can do to not go down there and smack someone upside the head.

OK when you rent a car, you assume responsibility for the rig period. If the car comes back in a different shape, you are responsible, period. Meaning, I will charge you for all damages, even if you don't agree or like it. You have 2 options
1st - try to fight it. Good luck, if they have a clear case, youre lost
2nd - Let them know that you got the car in a different type of situation, i.e. rain, at night, and then have them prove the opposite.

Otherwise, you will not win any argument with the green monster since they have all right to sue you.

Damage Reports are often done after the cutomer leaves. They will find the damage and try to pin it on someone. As the other post says, if you have the receipt you are fine.

If you do not, insist on seeing every piece of original paperwork. The original rental agreement where you agreed to the condition of the vehicle. See the damage report, and if you did not sign it, you can not be held responsible. Also, the date the report was generated will probably not match the day you returned the vehicle, so make sure to check that as well.

Do not give them any information about your insurance company. Good luck!!

Returned the Enterprise car, the agent walked around and said I had damaged the bottom half of the front bumper, ( a six inch paint scractch only). I deny having caused this, am sure if was there when I got the car, (both myself and the attendant walked around the car prior to check out..I did not bend down to look at the bumper and neither did the attendant...) I denied doing it, but that it could not be more than $25 worth of damage......a paint pencil would have completely masked it. I refused to sign aknowledgment of the scratch being my fault. I was harassed for 6 months, finally paid nearly $500 for the repair, which I doubt was ever done. My insurance company ( I have $500 deductable) says they have had this complaint from Enterprise renters before. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM !!!!

Enterprise Rent A Scam is trying to pull the same thing on me in San Diego. They are a bunch of "up with people" rejects who try to mask terrible customer service with fraud. I need to know if claims with Better Business Bureau or the Attorney General are useful and how to initiate these.

I need to know if claims with Better Business Bureau or the Attorney General are useful and how to initiate these.

ECRAP has one of the worst rattings with the BBB and have been sued by several states attorney general.

This opps you scratched our car trick is common. Either a employee or customer damaged the car and they just wait to pass it on to the next person that rents the car without waiver. They are also know to take a car back damaged WITH waiver and not dicument it (so repair costs do not come out of their pockets) and pass the cost to the next customer.

Avoid all dealings with them!!
