Default BOGUS Transmission damage!!!

I got a bill for a car that the employee who checked in was suprised they rented to me because the car was ready to retire...

The bill is for $2800.00

As for the transmission they sent me a letter from the auto body place stating that "The vehicle was driven to our facility with a crack in the transmission case. The crack looked fresh as there was no sign of dirt or road grime in the crack. The vehicle was badly leaking transmission fluid and could not have been driven for very long in that condition."

When I filled it up before returning it all the fluid levels were good.

Any thoughts... Please share them, any help is great help.
Thanks!

My advice: quit doing reverse-to-first gear in rental vehicles next time your rent from Enterprise

Are you claiming that you or someone else actually checked ALL the fluid levels, including the transmission, immediately prior to returning?

That would be funny as hell!
I am sure he meant that he didn't see any leaks on the ground.

I'm betting there isn't one other customer out there who checks the transmission fluid on a rental.

Frankly, I'd be just as happy if they left the hood closed.

We used to rent cars all the time with low blinker fluid. I even had one customer get mad at me because he noticed the car's muffler bearings were worn. I had to write-off $1.23 on that rental to make him happy.

That's funny.. good luck with that. It's not Enterprise that will waste time or money. You'd better hope their lawyers don't go after your dog too

Um . . . unless you have a few billion dollars lying around (very, very doubtful) you don't have more money than Enterprise. Andy Taylor probably wastes more cash in a week on hookers and blow than what you make in three years.

And I wouldn't worry about who has more time. Trust me, you've already been written off like the 14 other people they fucked that day besides you.
Sorry.

Good for ERAC. In all seriousness why would you check the fluid upon returning if you didn't do something shady. I have NEVER checked the transmission fluid in any of my cars personal or at enterprise. Why there is absolutely no need.

You are such a dumb ass liar. I hate customers like you. I AM SO GLAD THEY CHARGED YOU.
