help for customers Im an ERAC employee, having ignorant customers is a daily occurance. Read this advice so you can protect yourself. 1) Renting a car is not like buying a pack of gum. Cars cost 20+ thousand dollars(in case you didn't know). You should protect yourself, look over the vehicle. If it is not on the contract than you are not responsible for it. It is that simple. 2) read the contract : (among other things)when signing the contract you are authorizing enterprise to keep your billing current. This means that in the middle of your contract, we can take a charge on you card if your current amount due is close to/ over the current authorization/deposit. Dont be cheap, dont buy/rent something if you cant pay for it. 3) We are not out there to pin damage on you.We dont receive any extra income if you damage a vehicle. We actually lose money, if the car is in the shop, then it cant be rented. If the damage was not there, you rented it, and then there is damage, use common sense. You are responsible for the damage. Pinning damage on you creates more work for us. And like normal people, we dont want to do work if we dont have to. 4) All 3 "insurance" packages can be be bought together or seperate in any combination. Do yourself a favor, dont be cheap and at the very least, spend the extra 8.99 per day and get the damage waiver for the vehicle. 8.99 per day is a hell of a lot cheaper than the detuctible for your own insurance ( and thats if your insurance covers you in a rental) . Any damage really is hassle free if you purchase the waiver. Just be smart, read the contract, it is very straight forward. Just taking the simple time to know what you are signing your name to will make the entire rental process run smooth. |
