Wow. This is refreshing, a renter admitting to damage they caused. We all commend you sir. To all those idiots that insist damage was there, and they had nothing to do with it....WE HATE YOU. This was one of the worst parts about ERAC, hearing customers lie to your face.

There's more of us out there. I once backed my rental into a tree stump at a State Park. First, I got my own estimate ($500 and something) for the damage to prevent from being overcharged and triggering a "chargable claim" over $700. Second, I contacted MY insurance company and filed a claim. Third, I asked the rental location manager to have someone from loss control contact me. They called and said I would need to pay my $50 deductible when I turned the car in. I have heard nothing about it since.

its a different story if you backed into a tree stump. of course you can't get away with that. but if the damage was smaller than say the size of a nickel...then forget about it.

Enterprise has contracts with certain insurance carriers to exempt Loss of Use. I was really put off when some counter dingbat was trying to use this excuse to push LDW on me in spite of already having my insurance card in front of her. As far as I'm concern she was trying to steal money from me. I suspect some of the subhuman debris on this board try that crap. Enterprise management is pretty good, but the counter personnel leave much to be desired.

That "counter dingbat" was most likely not trained properly by that good management on how to sell waiver. I was trained to use that same loss of line when I first started until I learned from my own insurance agent that erac usually didn't charge it. I stopped trying to sell people on that after I learned it was false.

It's doubtful that they're trying "steal" money from you. It's just an example of poor training. Don't be such a drama queen. This is exactly why customers receive so much shit when they come to this site. They always assume they know the reason for why they're being treated a certain way, when quite often they are simply overreacting.

The 'counter dingbats', as you so respectfully call them, are almost entirely promoted on their ability to sell cdw. They will almost say anything to sell it and when someone complains the manager will right it off. But overall the Enterprise management (that are pretty good and certainly not subhuman debris) will turn a blind eye to shady tactics because they get a bigger comission check when people buy cdw and don't complain.

What I recommend is you take a picture of the employee and send it to your insurance company to complain about being sent to do business with counter dingbats like this, then i would call the better business bureau to report them, then I would go on ripoff.com and let everyone know and also file a case with small claims court to sue for pain and suffering.
