Why do you defend Andy's company...he doesn't even give you a Christmas bonus and you are ready to take a bullet for him. Forget sales skills I think you need to choose better friends.

P.S.
Thanks for the story about the three acidents, but realize Andy and ERAC don't offer the insurance to be nice, they make money on it. So yes it may save someone $500, but it costs everyone else buying it millions each year.
1. Optional products are less than 10% of the company's income.

2. A Branch actually loses out if a car is damaged w/ waiver as opposed to without.

3. It is proven, those individuals who purchase waiver tend to be more satisfied with their rental experience.

4. In some states where Enterprise carries MFR on the vehicles, it only makes common sense to sell liability.

Waiver isn't for everyone. But anyone who has actually worked rental (and isn't pretending on here) has seen FIRSTHAND the benefits in action when a customer has had damage to the vehicle.

American Express will cover now up 42 days as primary insurance for only a $24.95 dollar fee. So in a month that is 83 cents versus $450. Tell me who is over charging.
Your wrong and I'm not a customer so stop trying to push this on me. Wait a second you need one more so here it comes.....NO
This is right off Amnex's site so just fess up your ripping people off. And yes it does say PRIMARY damage.

I am not a defender of ERAC by any stretch, but, after seeing customers cry about 1) I WASNT TOLD I COULD BUY DAMAGE WAIVER! (after an accident in an ERAC car of course)
2) I TOLD THE GIRL I WANTED TO BUY ADDITIONAL COVERAGE (when they didnt)

I really dont care if people think dub is screwing customers over. The bottom line is if they would buy it after an accident, then they should have bought it from the start.

I call bullshit. You worked at a couple of branches before you ran and hid at admin. Either that or your sales numbers were so low that it seemed to everyone that you really didn't work in rental.

If you were going to die within a month and could do nothing to stop it, would you put life insurance into effect to help your wife and kids? Of course you would. Except, no one knows when they are going to die OR have an accident. Again, if you brought a damaged car back to an ERAC branch and were offered "second chance dub" you would be all over it. SO it is not the ripoff you claim. The tactics that people use to get customers to buy it might be unethical, but there is value in the product.

To whoever went on a rampage about AMEX....do you work for ERAC?? And if you do/did, have you ever worked in a branch where you were lucky if one customer per day owned a credit card, much less an AMEX??? Our coverage helps those individuals who will rent for a few days and who does not have $500 or so lying around to pay for a deductible on a car that they don't own. If you even one time were unfortunate enough to have a grown man (customer) cry in front of you because he owed you money that he didn't have, you'd understand. Point is, if you do not own the AMAZING, FANTASTIC, GOING TO SAVE YOUR LIFE, GOD'S GIFT TO THE RENTAL WORLD AMEX (so you seem to think), it's best to take protection if you are going to be in the rental for a few days. And whoever said it is "additional protection", ERAC coverage is sometimes the ONLY protection they have. Remember, by passing a credit check, you can still rent a car without a credit card or insurance.

I don't see what the big deal is to admit that you worked in rental? Why hide it. Unless you don't like looking like a hypocrite.
