hi robert:
i left erac making 48k almost doubled that within a year and was making six figures within 2years after that. not in sales, but in an exec capacity.

it can be done, maybe not by all, but it can be done.

funny story, i had exceeds requirements reviews for 2 review periods and had lateraled into my admin spot from rental. so, i basically hadn't had a pay increase for 1.5 years. during that time i asked for a raise 4 times. i was ignored the first 3 times, literally no response from my manager or her manager. i started looking for a job after the 3rd brush off and told no on the 4th. when i turned in my resignation, stating my new salary, they were honestly shocked. i'll never forget this for as long as i live and i truly hope i'm never this ridiculous with any of my employees. they honestly said to me, we had no idea money was so important to you.

i laughed and said, what do you think i have been doing for the last 4 years, charity work?

so my simple advice for anyone working at the big e or anyone else who has left is this:

take erac for the experience it can give you, learn from the few good people you meet and the copious numbers of bad managers that you encounter. then move on and be happy. your life is yours to control- not erac or anyone else's. don't be a whiny victim. you can be pitiful or you can be powerful but you can't be both. oh yeah, and get off the cross, we need the wood.

Other career opportunities that you can get into with enterprise.
Selling cars
Working in accounting
Working in Human resources
Working in loss control
Working with large insurance companies
These are just a few of the many opportunities available.

Tell me how many companies have an average retirement age of 45 years? This is retiring without a pension, this is retiring wealthy.

First of all as ERAC employees we learn how to manage cars, coming and going at all points of the day, we make sure that the vehicles are as in a good a shape as they can be before the leave again. Tell me this, if we have a car with a door ding in it and you have a reservation for a car that is small and uncomfortable because you are 21 years old, when no other rental agency will even think about renting you a car, we put you in one. Forgetting that you are so young that the reason your insurance is so high that it's a huge risk to carry you on the policy anyway. Sorry we are trying to accomodate the customers who are young. We manage all aspects of everything that entales that branch. Accounts Receivable, Marketing, Advertisment, you name it. Tell me one person who has a business of their own, whatever avenue they make their money from, and tell me that they don't have to manage their resources, make sure their product is to the best of their ability, make sure they aren't loosing money in the deal, or making a shady deal for someone who looks like they might take the car and never return. Tell me what job doesn't have sales and marketing to put your brand out there while product sourceing and making sure that you have all the resources available when someone calls and says they need accomodations for 2 hours from now. Stop hating on ERAC, seriously, you are making yourself look like idiots. READ THE CONTRACTS, we don't have to accomodate you. We do it to help you out. Guarentee this... the only reason you are bitching is probably because you are part of and insurance replacement, or replacement for a warranty / body shop and you are already pissed that you don't have your car and anything that we can give you is probably going to be horrible. Why try to make you super happy when you are just going to bitch anyway! Kiss my ass for coming and picking you and then taking the time to go back and pick up the car that we told you had to be returned to the branch. Now we are loosing money on that too. Along with loosing money because you probably left the tank empty dick! Kiss my ass for even trying! Be nice to someone for 10 hours a day and get yelled at and talked nasty to when we are a third party in most deals with insurance or body shops!!! Whatever people, you don't have any clue. You know how I know you don't have any clue... Because you sound like idiots on here. Get a real job, then come back at me and speak. Until you have a ligit. point. Keep the typing for yourself. No one wants to see it!!!

Do you really think you are doing your customers a favor by allowing them to give you money?
Your customers are the most important people who will ever walk through your doors. Jack Taylor said that. Until you realize that, you will continue to fail. Oh, and you are losing money, not loosing it. Idiot.

I love how ERAC employees talk so tough about customers and accounts. Bashing them left and right and callin them idiots and losers. Fact is, without customers and your accounts you'd be history, done, out of business. ERAC does not have a monopoly on the rental car business. There are many other companies out there, some even cheaper. Fact is people have choices and they don't need to use ERAC. So stop your fake tough talk, because if Andy or Jack Taylor ever heard you talk about a customer that way you would be out on your ass so friggin fast.

I just burned my nosehairs because this post made me gag on my coffee. Retiring wealthy? Who, where, and when? Give me some names and what groups and how long they worked there. I worked for a little over two years and nobody in my "10 member recruiting class" made it passed the two year mark. Oh and neither did anyone in the class recruited 4 months before or the one six months after mine.

The only folks that make it to retirement at 45 are Andys inner circle. Don't give me the crap..."well someone I work with knows someone who made millions with erac..." It just doesn't fly pal. So look at your paycheck again, ask some of the cooler higer ups at your local admin office what the ARMs, RRMs, BMs, ect make. I spoke with an Accountant that graduated from the same college as I and he showed me the commissions all the BMs in the city. It was sobering how poor those folks really are. The highest earning BM in our group was making just a little over 62K and that was two years ago. Lots of them don't talk specifics because what they actually make and what they lead you to believe are two vastly different things. Besides, if they were really making all that money, why settle for retirement that early?

I have learned that usually the loudest braggart has the most to hide...in 8th grade it was the guy in gym class bragging about getting to second base-turned out he came outta the closet in highschool. The college homecoming queen buying all designer duds and driving a new BMW on credit only to file bankruptcy shortly after graduating. You see the list goes on and on.

You're not fooling anyone. But then again you hang around with ERAC just fooling yourself.

Do you know how much you sound like an AMWAY pitch? When I was an mt I heard just about everything. I was solicited for magazines, hot stock tips, investment seminars, ground floor opportunities, any number of MLM scams, ect.

I told every single one of those people to take my number and IF THEY MADE A MILLION $$$ come back to me and I would buy into their sham. Its been over a few years from the beginning, but do you know how many came back? ZERO, ZILCH, NADA, NO ONE.

Do you get the picture, chimp? Oh I forgot, monkeys are easily manipulated. (Sorry that's an insult to monkeys)

I know there ars a lot of relly bad managers at ERAC but it is good managment experience.
Donut drops to scumbag body shops is a particularly sought after skill in the workforce. And, the ability to do a kegstand is a pretty strong resume builder too.
