| Date of my last threatening Letter April 17, 2007 Please note the date of the origninal letter To Whom It May Concern August 8, 2006 Upon arriving Maple Ridge, British Columbia for my step-daughter’s wedding, I rented a car March 22 until 1:00PM March 25, 2006 from Enterprise at 20468 Lougheed Highway, Maple Ridge, BC, BC V2X 2P8. The exterior of the vehicle was mud dirty and not washed prior to my receiving the car and returned in the same condition. Before collecting the car, the Enterprise employee went out to the car and had me look it over for dents and scratches which were impossible inspect as the car had not been washed. As I was in a hurry, I trusted the employee and accepted the car. My wife and I were accompanied by a group of 4 people upon returning the vehicle on March 25. We waited for the Enterprise employee to finish the paperwork for a customer. After he was finished, he went outside to wash a car. We waited approximately 20 minutes and finally I went outside to tell him we needed the return car receipt. He came in and had me initial the bottom of my customer contract receipt which identifies there was no damages. This employee did not check the car for any damages prior to our leaving which can be verified by the 4 witnesses. On March 30th, 2006, I received a call from a lady identified as Mabel Au from Surrey, BC who said she was an Enterprise claims officer. She stated that the car was returned with rear bumper damage and an investigation was being conducted to determine the damage cost to be borne by me. I immediately phoned the above witnesses and explained the situation and they all stated there was no damage to the vehicle. This group was traveling behind us on our way to Enterprise as my wife and I didn’t know how to get Enterprise and we didn’t know directions to the reception. We depended on the group to give us a ride to the reception. The next call I received from Enterprise (Mabel) was July 13, 2006 giving me the cost of the repairs and asking how I would like to pay the bill. I called my attorney and he advised me to get photographs with electronic date and time on the photos. I returned a call to Mabel and advised what my attorney requested. She advised me that she didn’t think it was possible to have dates on the photos. Today (Aug 8, 2006), I received a call from Enterprise representative Mabel telling me that my credit card had been charged and the photos would be put in the mail. She stated they were not electrically dated. I must clearly state that this car was not damaged. The witnesses, my wife and I all agreed that this is a scam by the Maples Ridge, BC Enterprise franchise. I did not receive a receipt upon rental return nor have I received one in the mail. I have not received any paper documents regarding anything from the Enterprise franchise. My Merrill Lynch Visa Disputes representative conducted an investigation of Surrey's Enterprise Rental Car and found no evidence that the damage was done by me. They closed their file late Fall of 2006 and informed me that this apprears to be a fraudulent claim. Yesterday, I received a letter from Mable Au of Enterprise Rent telling me that I still owe for the damages. I've contacted Merrill Lynch Visa Disputes for all their documentation. Yesterday, I contacted the State of Florida's Attorney General's office for fraud, I was advised to file a fraud complaint with with with RECOL in Canada, the Canadian Competition Bureau and the Candian Office of Comsumer Affairs. My Florida complaint is on file with the Attorney Generals office who requested to keep them informed of any progesss on this issue. Upon receiving the Merrill Documentation, I will file my complaint with the above Canadian authorities. |
