You'd think that a company that makes over 9 billion in annual revenue could afford to hire cleaning crews for its branches, so that bathrooms could actually be cleaned more than once every couple of months.

i don't think that 9 bill is an accurate number
being a private company, they can basically say whatever they want...that number is highly inflated IMO.
i would love for an IRS auditor to delve into this company, their has gotta be plenty of laws broken.
so, you would think that a company that "allegedly" profits the billions it claims would hire accountants to do accounting (A/R list is an accountant function), LCAMS to do corp marketing, and a cleaning crew to do all the cleaning (yes that means cleaning cars). Instead the lowly rental employee is forced to do all these functions and more...and they wonder why turnover is so high??

There are many factors that make a "career" at ERAC true misery. But I firmly believe the number one reason are the employees in the branch. All it takes is a shitty BM to drive people away in droves. Or, a shithead ARM. When you promote scum to be leaders, no one will want to stay. Things like long hours and low pay will then seem like bigger issues down the road, although most of knew about that before we started. When you work with vermin it kills your spirit. Even crappy customers are not as bad as shady, unethical, drug using, alcoholic, cheating, and fucked up BMs/ARMS.

I know I was pissed about it, that's why I left for another car rental company and now I make twice as much as I did with ERAC working 3/4 the hours.

Yes A/R is part of the accounting cycle, but no real accountants do this. It takes zero intelligence, just a necessary step to turn A/R's into cash. Most operations where there is a branch and corporate office have the local office do it. They have better knlowedge of specific situations, and like I said before it isn't actual accounting work...
