I worked in MD and whenever the weather was bad enough (1 inch of snow or worse) they would ban pickups and sometimes have just the Branch Manager come in (we would get an SUV for the time being). As far as repos go I would never have an employee go on a repo or a pick up that I would not go on. I worked in the ghetto of one of the top 5 cities for Murder per Capita and I did pickups in the evening. You just verify all of their info before hand to make sure the rental was legit (INS replacement only and DB must be setup with shop information) and we would meet them on the corner of the street they lived on which they understood. If you felt that your employer was putting you in a dangerous position you have the right to say "NO" you fucking idiots. If you went on a dangerous trip (like 400 miles to a "Mandatory" Holiday party) then you are an idiot. Your job can not mandate that you attend an after work function without paying you so you must have been paid for the holiday party right, and the hotel, mileage and such. If not then you are either lying about the party being mandatory or you are a moron for not getting yourself paid. If you are spineless then you will be told to do things rather than asked. Grow a pair and stand up for your safety. If you get injured on the job because your manager forced you to be put in a dangerous situation than YOU CAN SUE!! Otherwise take it like a man/woman and shut the fuck up!

Did you get fired when you told your managere that you were not going to go on the repo? Or did you back down and say you were going to go. I have done repos and had much worse than you can think happen. I actually had to drop a customer when he tried to get his dog on me and my carprep brok the dogs leg by kicking it. Again, I would not send an employee out to do anything I was not willing to do myself. Did you talk to your HR manager about this? What about the city manager? YOUR ARM DOES NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO PUT YOU IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION LIKE THAT! Also, we would hire an outside company to do repos we thought were going to be issues. Don't talk to me about working in a tough city because my branch was robbed, shot up and had a broken window at least 3-4 times per month. Also, you saying that they are going to "Make up documentation about you". Its called a review. If you save the review then that will hold up more than some BS documentation that you did not sign. I have seen people sue and I have seen people get paid. Iiam sorry you had such a bad situation but unfortunately you should have told you ARM to fuckoff (not in those terms) and talked to HR and someone else. Trust me, ERAC does not want an employee getting killed or severely injured because an ARM forced them to do a repo which in all honesty is not part of the job description or requirement. You are to "pick up cars dropped off by customers".

I used to work at this office in a really swanky part of town. We had this customer who had reserved a Mercedes, but when she showed up all we had was a BMW. She got so mad and yelled at me really loudly. I wanted to cry right then. She said was going to tell my boss on me. I got so scared and feared for my well-being. Gosh, I'm glad I don't work there anymore, I could have died.
