I ended up in a big fight with my boss in the wash bay, and I did have to hold myself back from being violent. I didn't want to hurt anyone...but by that point, I had felt like I had had it. I am still so angry and hurt by the things that my manager said to me...the way he acted...the way he handled the situation. He provoked more than tried to settle the situation. I think that in the future, if he does keep doing this to people, he will find that he will end up attacked at some point. He was good with numbers....he was not so good with people. He was wrapped up in himself...too much. He had a hot head. He wore blinders. He saw the world as he wanted to see it and that is all. Well, that doesn't always work well when you are dealing with real, live people. But, again, I was just a driver. I was really nothing to the company. I worked full time hours, sometimes even more, and yet did not have the benefits of a full time employee because I was considered part time. And....I'm babbling...venting...I shall end here...:)

Fuck 'em. That guy is a cocksucker who'll get fired in time. If you have any dirt on him or the branch, please post it. The more you expose these people the better. Good luck to you man.

Well put.. but the sad thing is.. VERY few managers realize that.. or if they do, they don't care enough to appreciate all the hard work that most lotties put in.
I always found it striking that an MT could dodge the counter, be a jerk to someone on the phone, or sell shady waiver and management would seem to find a way to overlook these flaws (which btw, go against everything the company stands for), and yet if a lottie [who has been sitting outside pretty much all day, in rain, snow, or 100 degree weather (season depending)] took more than 3 minutes prepping a car that came back really needing a detail it was the end of the world. Futhermore, if you go so far as to point this out to said "management", they just stare at you like all the sudden you have sprouted a second head and are speaking a foreign language.
it's pretty amazing... and pretty pathetic.
human right's activists would have a field day if they knew some of the stuff that actually takes place on a daily basis at a local branch.

You guys got car preps! We were always cutting expenses in my group, and couldn't afford to have preps, or drivers. I would've treated my preps great, so I didn't have to wash any cars.

We actually treated our car preps really well. We would feed them and invite them to the occasional happy hour. We would always joke that the car preps had it better than the MT's because they had less responsibility and was paid about the same.

I work for GP 46 and so far I haven't been treated to badly, but thats not to say that I don't get the onslaught of verbal abuse from the ABM who in my personal opinion is a piece of dog shit. Thankfully I'm not the only one being put down but this asshole but when anyone speaks up about it he just keeps his mouth shut for a few days then hes back to being an ass. An being one of the three Driver/car preps that the office has I've seen more harassment at this company than I have ever had at all the places I have worked.

ERAC should hire all mexicans as car preps. They do a great job, show up on time, and their only legal problems are that they're here illegally. All the car preps at my branches were Mexican and were cool as shit. We'd drink with them after work and they're good people.

High class Mexicans usually work as car preps, gardeners etc, while low class white people wind up with those jobs.

I was until recently a car prep who incidently did a great job,showed up on time and for your information am not low class(had my own businesees/houses etc)and am white(whatever that has to do with anything)The reason i came to Erac was to reduce my working day from 18 hours and to spend quality time with my family as prior was self employed.The reason i left was due to arrogant,small minded people fresh out of nappies and high school who in the real world without mummy and daddies help would not have survived.I,after 4 years could no longer be bothered constantly challenging these "people" and reporting them and placing them in hearings(which incidently i won each case)
I have been raised to treat people as humans and as equals regardless of the class/race nonsence.

I commend you for wanting to spend more time with your family ( I have a problem with white car preps breeding but that's a whole new thread). If you want to spend more time with your family I can think of a bunch of jobs that are easy, pay more, and don't require you cleaning cars like you're fresh over the border. It's pretty simple- if you enjoy all the privileges of being white in this country and still wind up as a car prep- you're, for lack of a better term, a low class white person. I wasn't looking to call out any individuals with my original post but I have to a least defend my reasoning since you responded.

Why did you put people in quotes when talking about your co-workers?

It really doesnt matter. Car preps really aint shit anyway. I hope that they not only have their benefits cut but they are right at 7.50 an hour. Any car prep that did that in my office would be fired immediately. Then after I fired him, I would kick his ass. Then after that, I would make sure that it took HR an extra month to "conveniently" pay him his last paycheck.

Then after that, I would find out where his girl lived, sit on her face and take a shit.

Well, maybe I wouldnt go that far but I would kick his ass. No car prep would ever punk me because I would put him in his place! I know Spanish pretty well.
