Another St. Louisan, Pauline MacMillan Keinath, 74, ranks 42nd thanks to her inheritance from Cargill, Forbes said. Her net worth is $7 billion. Leading the 2008 list once again is William Gates III with a net worth of $57 billion, down from $59 billion in 2007. Gates is followed by Warren Buffett of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. Buffett’s wealth is placed at $50 billion, down from $52 billion in the past year. Microsoft co-founder and Charter Communications shareholder Paul Allen ranked No. 12 with a net worth of $16 billion. But his stake in Charter is down 45 percent since May, Forbes said.
